This exciting programme is validated by Staffordshire University and delivered by CWT Chamber Training. Combining work based learning with academic study, the Foundation Degree offers childcare settings the opportunity to enhance staff training and development, providing a firm basis for progression to further study such as the BA (Hons) and a route to Early Years Professional Status (EYPS).
The programme delivers flexible and high quality, teaching and learning experiences which will encourage delegates to relate theory to practice and prepare them for their role as senior practitioners and managers in early years care and education. Individuals will develop knowledge and an in depth understanding of current practice, legislation and initiatives in the early years sector including a commitment to promoting the holistic development of the child. The content and nature of the programme is to provide delegates with the opportunity to broaden knowledge and skills, both academically and in terms of personal and business development.
The Foundation Degree is predominantly assignment based with only one exam. Delegates will be required to complete work related assignments in all modules to provide them with the opportunity to link theoretical perspectives to their practice. It is a requirement therefore that delegates are employed in a setting (paid or unpaid) and have an approved Level 3 childcare qualification with at least 1 year of post-qualifying experience.
The programme will be delivered over two years and six months. To achieve this qualification you will be required to attend CWT Chamber Training on a weekly basis either one day or an afternoon and twilight session.
