Hairdressing is a high profile career where being qualified is essential to your success. NVQ Diplomas are the ''first choice'' qualifications, industry recognised and awarded by City & Guilds. Whether you are new to the industry or want to improve on the skills you already have, we''ve got the course for you.
Each level contains a wide range of units to allow you and your employer to tailor your qualification to your requirements. At all levels you will be able to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to meet national standards. A sample of units include:

What level is right for me?
Level 2 will provide you with the broad foundation to becoming a qualified stylist. Thereafter you can progress to level 3 which covers specialised hairdressing techniques such as advanced cutting, colour correction, advanced perming, as well as consultation, promoting salon services, salon supervision and control of resources.
There are no formal entry requirements. However you must be working within hairdressing the at appropriate level, either full-time or part-time in order to generate the necessary evidence to prove competence. CWT will guide you on this.
Duration & Format
Completion is anticipated within 18 months per level. The agreed number of visits will take place at your premises. You will be appointed a personal Training Adviser who will visit you in the workplace to assess progress on portfolio development and conduct observation sessions. Progress will be recorded at each visit. Oral or written questions will be used to cover underpinning knowledge. Start dates are available throughout the year.
£975 (Chamber member) or £1045 (non Chamber member) for Level 2
£1250 (Chamber member) or £1325 (non Chamber member) for Level 3.
Prices are plus Awarding Body registration and certification costs and subject to VAT.
