IOSH Managing Safely
IOSH Managing Safely is a nationally accredited course, designed for key personnel with responsibility for managing health and safety. It offers an in-depth insight into work place health and safety and includes employees’ duties under common law, enforcement procedures, RIDDOR, COSHH, manual handling, fire prevention and electrical safety. Delegates who successfully complete written and practical assessments will be certificated by IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health). Delegates on this course have consistently achieved success and there is currently a 100% pass rate (at time of printing).
Key Objectives
After attending this course delegates will understand:
- The principles and communication of health and safety management
- Appreciating the duties under common law, including enforcement procedures
- The roles and responsibilities of Management
- Applying principles of risk assessment
- Accident management systems - reporting, investigation, causation and prevention
Course Outline
- Practical understanding of the impact of health and safety legislation in the work place
- Develop a recognised, credible safety management system
- Define hazards and risks and legal requirements for risk assessment
- Appreciate the key provisions of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
- Practical application of EU regulations in the work place
- Responsibilities in criminal and civil law
- Hazards and precautions necessary associated with fire, electricity, work equipment, movement of people, manual handling operations, VDU’s noise & chemicals
- Safety monitoring and working safely
- Accident Reporting, recording & investigation, accident causation
