(22/11/2011) A Wonderful Career for Clive
Childcare is not always considered as a first choice career for men, but Clive Fazakarley has proved that not only is it a good career move but can lead to an exciting future. Clive tells his story:
My Journey
“I approached CWT two years ago to discuss the qualifications I would need to gain a qualification to become a youth offending worker. One of the options I was offered was an Apprenticeship in Childcare. CWT gave me support to secure employment with Wonder Years Nursery. I attended the nursery 4 days per week and attended CWT training centre for the other day. I was also assigned an assessor who visited me in the workplace to observe me carrying out various activities. My assessor and employer are very supportive and within a year I had completed my level 2 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development. My assessor encouraged me to progress onto level 3. I attended weekly sessions in the evening to complete the technical certificate. I was observed again by my assessor but this time it was completing more supervisory roles within the workplace. I had support and advice all through the course and was able to work at a pace suited to me; this enabled me to complete the level 3 in 8 months! I am now a fully qualified Nursery Nurse and am looking to progress further and become a youth offending worker in the future. CWT and in particular my assessor have given 1st class support and advice, I would recommend CWT and the Apprenticeship route to anybody who is looking to gain qualifications whilst working”.

CWT Chamber Training offer Certificate and Diploma qualifications in Children and Young People’s Workforce.
We are also one of the few providers in Coventry & Warwickshire pleased to now offer Playwork qualifications at levels 2 and 3
