Apprenticeship Route to Nursing with CWT

Congratulations to Kate Molloy who at 22 years old is celebrating her acceptance into Northampton University to study General Nursing in September this year.Kate Molloy (centre) with CWT Training Advisors Claire Andrews and Maria Summers

After attending Trinity School Leamington Spa, Kate found herself working in HR, sadly after 8 months she was made redundant. After completing some volunteer work at Galonos House, a Royal British Legion Care home based in Southam, Warwickshire, Kate secured full time employment in the Dementia unit. It was then that Kate embarked on her Apprenticeship with CWT Chamber Training achieving both her Care Intermediate and Advanced qualifications.

Kate said "I love working in the Care sector, It gives me a sense of achievement making someone‘s day better, and making a difference. I have really enjoyed my training; finding the level of support from my training advisor at CWT and my manager was outstanding.  I was so impressed with the Apprenticeship I became an Ambassador for the Care sector for CWT".

Kate was also the Dignity Champion at Galonos House, this involved extra activity with the clients, with a wish tree, day trips and Kate designed and built a dignity wall display with information and posters.

As a young person Kate felt lost with no real aim in life but since gaining valuable work experience and completing the Apprenticeship she now knows where her future is heading.

Following in her mum’s footsteps into nursing, she hopes to work in Accident & Emergency. The future… to achieve her dream of opening her own Dementia unit.

All at CWT wish Kate the best of luck!
