Financial Support

Without question, people are the most important asset to any business. Given the right training, skills and knowledge, competent and motivated staff will enable your company to flourish and gain that competitive edge. To make your training budget go further, CWT will point you in the direction of available financial support to assist you and your business in the development of its people. Eligibility for training subsidies and grants changes from time to time and CWT will advise you of the latest funds which currently include:

Junior Staff Development - Apprenticeships

Full financial support is available for the training of junior staff who start their Apprenticeship between the ages of 16 - 18 years whether they are existing staff or in the process of being recruited to a new post.

For other junior staff aged 19 - 24, there is significant financial training support with a small charge levied for Awarding Body (City & Guilds etc) registration and certification costs to the value of £95 per Apprentice. This only applies to young people who start an Apprenticeship at the age of 19 and above.

Apprenticeships are available to all young people not currently in full-time education, whether you already work with an employer or are seeking your first job on the career ladder.

Existing Employees (19 years +) - Train to Gain

There is full financial support for employed individuals in order for them to gain an NVQ level 2 qualification in their chosen occupational area. This is only available to individuals who do not already hold an NVQ level 2 or its equivalent (5 GCSEs at grades C and above).

Partial financial support is available to support employees who wish to undertake an NVQ level 3 qualification. It is expected that the organization or the individual will contribute 50% towards the costs of the qualification.

Train to Gain is available to all staff who work in private sector companies, regardless of the size of the employer.

Voluntary Sector Employees - Learning Consortium

If you work within the voluntary sector, you are able to access a fully financially supported NVQ at level 2 or level 3.
