Loni was nominated for the award by her CWT advisor Karen Devany and went on to be selected from over 600 other applicants. The event took place at the Iron Bridge Museum in Telford, Loni competed in the Higher Apprenticeship category.
Stewart, Fletcher and Barrett wrote ‘ Loni is an extremely dedicated employee, student and mother. Loni truly deserves to be Apprentice of the Year. Joining Stewart, Fletcher and Barrett in 2009 as an accounts clerk, her exceptional ability soon saw her take on new roles and responsibilities and she now plays a key role within the organisation. As VAT controller, she developed a system for completing returns which has proved very successful and is still in place. She is currently studying for her AAT qualification, and has already achieved a qualification with the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers. Loni’s achievements are all the more remarkable considering that she manages to balance working full time, doing homework in the evenings and looking after her child. However, she is an extremely hard-working and driven individual who strives to achive the very best in everything she does and this is apparent to all who have met her. We are proud to support her in her studies and in her nomination for the award.’
Loni explains “study gave me the confidence to apply for the job I now have. I feel proud that I have gone from knowing nothing about accounts to finding a job that I genuinely enjoy and look forward to doing every day”
Loni will now attend the finals to be held in London on 29th June, CWT would like to wish her lots of luck!
