This is essential for all those who wish to carry out an Assessor role within the workplace. The award enables an understanding of the structure and terminology of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs), how they are achieved and the roles and responsibilities of all those involved in the NVQ process. Learning how to assist the candidate making plans for assessment, judging the candidates’ performance, knowledge evidence, making assessment decisions, providing feedback and commitment to equal opportunities and fair assessment are all programme objectives.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements. However you must have access to NVQ candidates in the work place.
Duration & Format
An introductory briefing is followed by one to one support from an assessor in developing and understanding assessment methods and techniques. Additionally it will focus upon ways of monitoring and tracking candidate progress whilst offering practical tips on portfolio building and evidence gathering. You must demonstrate your ability to assess NVQ candidates over a period of time. Assessment is by compilation of a portfolio of evidence. Duration is dependent upon the individual but an indicative duration is between 3 – 6 months.
