The Health and Social Care (Adult) NVQ is ideal for those in the care industry who interact with clients on a daily basis and are responsible for their welfare.

What level is right for me?

Level 2 is primarily aimed at those who are moving and handling clients on a daily basis, who read and follow care plans, who may accompany clients on visits to doctors or hospitals, or for those who may assist clients with their eating and drinking. Level 3 is for individuals who may administer medication, undertake writing and reporting of care plans and allocate tasks to junior members of the team.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. However you must be working with customers at the appropriate level, either full-time, part-time or on a voluntary basis in order to generate the necessary evidence to prove competence. CWT will guide you on this.

Duration & Format

Completion is anticipated within 9 months for a level 2 qualification and 12 months for a level 3 qualification. The agreed number of visits will take place at your premises. You will be appointed a personal Assessor who will visit you in the workplace to assess progress on portfolio development and conduct observation sessions.

Prices

The level 2 and level 3 qualifications are fully funded through the Train to Gain initiative. Costs apply for individuals who are not eligible for funding.
